Rev. Kenneth Chin is a lawyer by training, a communicator by calling and a dreamer by design. He is the Founding Senior Pastor of Acts Church in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Founding Director of Asian Youth Ambassadors (AYA), a not-for-profit youth organisation. He has dedicated his life since year 1995 to help inspire people of all ages – especially young people – to live their best lives. In the year 2000, Kenneth founded Acts Church, a dynamic family church that has grown from 3 to nearly 3,000 to date, across 38 churches in 8 nations, with a clear mission to “make disciples who will make the difference”.
An interesting & inspiring ‘half-time’ story of his life’s journey can be found in a book entitled “Chin Up”, published in March 2011, followed by a second print and revised version that was sold in major bookstores by August of the same year. Since then, he has written many other titles too.
Apart from that, Kenneth has started transformational enterprises (also known as social businesses) in various industries to reach various communities – Dream Village Football Academy, Klinik Kecheerian, Little Legends Child Care Centre, Victory Academy, Village Store House, Revo Store, Froth Café, Flatfish Media, BASICS (after school programme), Dream Village Cricket Academy, Mordecai Coaching, LINetS (Life Inspired Network Society), and the latest being iSurvived.
Pr. Palan has been serving in Reservoir Garden Baptist Church since 1991. He started serving as a youth worker which eventually led him to become the youth pastor and as an associate pastor to the senior pastor and now the mentoring pastor. He is also actively involved in church missions.
In 2002, he moved to Nepal as a missionary and church planter where he served for 7 years. His passion to raise a generation of soldiers for the Lord resulted in the formation of the Frontliners Ministry. He returned to Penang in late 2009 to serve as the Senior Pastor of Reservoir Garden Baptist Church until 2020. He also oversees the Nepali work in Penang and currently is the vice chairman of Malaysia Baptist Convention. Pastor Palan is a well sought-after speaker locally as well as abroad.
He is happily married to his wife, Surya, and they have only one daughter, Natasha.
Pastor Sam has been in fulltime Christian ministry for 34 years, serving in youth, worship, BM and church pastoral leadership positions.
He was a lecturer in Kolej Damansara Utama (Penang), a position which he held while pioneering Excel Point Community Church (EPCC). Starting the work in faith with only 3 members in 1997, EPCC has now grown to over 1600 members.
Pastor Sam is a Bachelor of Science graduate from Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas) and he attained his Practical Theology Diploma and Advance Diploma in Christ For the Nations Institute (Dallas, Texas), USA. He also completed his Master of Arts in Pastoral Leadership Studies at Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary (Penang). He authored a book entitled “Found in Christ” and has written 9 other Bible based Devotional books and two Discipleship Manuals.
He is married to his wife of 28 years, Susie Tan, and they have two children, Jeremy Sean and Ashley May.
